Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet messes (spills and staining) in one session without having to swap out devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively modest price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean and complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
For instance, you could choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only issue is that it tends to hit walls and objects at a high speed. However looking at the cleaning history on the app will show you exactly what the robot done, where it is traveling, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.
The docking station features a handy LCD screen that displays when maintenance is needed, such as emptying debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time as well, with the mop being capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is capable of running for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand, though we would have liked to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. It's not like the model from last year this one has a double agitator in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners might overlook.
As with the other two Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its direction in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects without missing a step.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular style is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button to return the robot to its dock. best robot vacuum cleaner hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.
The only downside I've discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these advanced features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track battery life. You'll need to jump through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its intelligent design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while also saving time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry mess. It also has a high-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. Additionally the X40 is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of sound when switching between modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.
Another standout characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. The robot can also reach under low-profile furnishings which makes it an ideal choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice addition that assists the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by excessive back-and-forth movements.
Unlike some other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming at the same time or individually. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, switch modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous convenient features, making it a perfect option for busy families. The docking station automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect if the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It has several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature of its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and other small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature because it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There's a plethora of settings on offer which include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a number of different preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options for customising the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of functions that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles rather than using the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
